Syria, Jordan foreign ministers discuss regional developments
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani discussed with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman al-Safadi on Wednesday the latest developments concerning the Higher Coordination Council between the two countries, as well as recent regional developments.
In recent days, Israel has escalated its incursions and statements toward the Israeli side, with the most serious incident being the targeting of Abu al-Duhur military airport in the countryside of Syria’s Idlib governorate.
State media reported that the phone call between al-Shaibani and al-Safadi addressed the latest developments concerning the Higher Coordination Council between the two countries, as well as recent regional developments.
The two ministers stressed the importance of continuing efforts to enhance security and stability in the region, according to state media.
Al-Safadi also condemned what he described as “Israeli violations in Syrian territory,” affirming Jordan’s solidarity with and support for Syria.
