VBIED caused casualties, wounds in Syria’s north Aleppo

AZAZ, Syria (North Press) – Initial reports indicated that two people, whom were said to be civilians, lost their lives and four others were wounded in a VBIED explosion in a center of the Turkish-backed opposition-held region of al-Ra’i, northern Aleppo, on Saturday.

The explosion took place in a vegetable bazar near the taxes office of the local council in the region, killing and wounding several people, a local source told North Press.

The source added that the VBIED explosion caused a massive damage to the surrounding area.

Turkish-backed armed opposition groups have been running the region of al-Ra’i since 18 Augusts, 2016 after dismissing the Islamic State (ISIS) from it.

On January 27, unknown assailants on a motorcycle fired at a checkpoint of the Sultan Murad Division in the village of Tat Homs in the countryside of al-Ra’i, killing one member and wounding 3 others.

Syrian opposition-held areas in northwestern Syria are witnessing security chaos accompanied by assassinations, and successive explosions amid the opposition groups’ inability to settle the security there.
