QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Syria’s Ministry of Education announced on Monday that unified curricula will be applied across all Syrian governorates during the 2026-27 academic year, aiming to unify the educational process and ensure equal access to curricula for students across the country.
The ministry said in a statement to the state-run SANA news agency that the curriculum used in Damascus during the 2025-26 academic year will be adopted in all Syrian governorates for the 2026-27 school year.
The ministry said the approved curricula are available on its newly launched official website.
It added that it has completed the preparation of national standards for new school curricula and will next move to the stage of developing the new curricula as part of efforts to update educational content in line with educational needs.
Regarding students in the eastern governorates, the ministry said Ministerial Decision No. 1617 allows students who previously studied under the curriculum of the Autonomous Administration to sit for general certificate examinations for both secondary education and basic education during the 2025-26 and 2026-27 academic years only.
