Opposition groups counter government forces’ advance in Syria’s Idlib countryside

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian armed opposition groups countered an infiltration attempt by the Syrian government forces in the eastern countryside of Idlib, on Saturday.

The government attempts to advance took place in conjunction with military escalations that the de-escalation zone, northwest Syria, is witnessing.

Al-Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room managed to foil the government infiltration in the village of Majraz, in the eastern countryside of Idlib, field sources told North Press.

Violent clashes erupted between government advanced soldiers and armed opposition groups causing casualties and wounds for both sides, according to the sources.

The sources pointed out that the government forces did not make any advance in the area during the last infiltration attempt.

Late in January, the al-Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room announced that it was able to thwart an attempt by the Syrian government forces to advance on the front of the southern countryside of Idlib.
