SDF arrests several ISIS members in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor countryside

HASAKA, Syria (North Press) – On Friday, Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) stated, it managed to arrest 9 Islamic State (ISIS) members in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria.

The SDF added on its official website, it launched two security operations with the US-led Global Coalition Forces in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, on February 10 and 11.  

The operations resulted in the arrest of 9 ISIS members, the confiscation of communication equipment, weapons, and ammunition, according to the SDF.

In February, the SDF announced a large-scale military operation against ISIS sleeper cells with the participation of People’s Protection Units (YPG), Women’s Protection Units (YPJ), and the Internal Security Forces (Asayish).

On February 4, a large-scale operation started with the participation of the YPG, YPJ and Asayish “because of the increase in the operations and attacks by ISIS, the SDF press office said in a statement at the time.
