The Syrian government forces continue their aerial and ground bombardment on armed opposition groups’ positions in southern Idlib countryside, while Daraa governorate is witnessing tensions and alert between the Syrian government security branches and former members of the armed opposition groups.
The Syrian Air Force targeted the outskirts of Taqad town in western Aleppo countryside, wounding one person and causing material damage.
The Syrian government forces also shelled positions of the armed opposition groups in the areas of Kafr-Sijna and Babolin in southern Idlib countryside, without information regarding casualties.
On a related context, the southern Syrian city of Daraa, al-Mahatah neighbor witnessed security tensions following the arrest of the Syrian air security members of a number of young men to force them to the compulsory service.
This led to the mobilization of former opposition members in the area where they blocked roads, demanded the removal of security checkpoints, the cessation of the checking and threatened to escalate the situation as violations continued in the area, which prompted the government forces to release the young men after being held for several hours.
Several areas in Daraa governorate, including the cities of Jassim and al-Sanamin have witnessed security tensions in recent days over the Syrian government forces’ attempt to arrest a former militant in the ranks of the Free Syrian Army (FSA).
On Friday, one person was killed while fishing west of al-Dur village in western As-Suwayda countryside, adjacent to eastern Daraa countryside due to a landmine exploded of the remnants of the armed groups that existed and infiltrated the area before the Syrian government forces took control last year.
