The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has revealed the identity of the perpetrator who struck the city of al-Bab yesterday, which resulted in dozens of deaths and others wounded. Hundreds of local residents of the city went out in a demonstration in front of the police station to demand the "execution" of the car bomber, but the local police responded by gun shots.

The Observatory said it had obtained information from trusted sources to reveal the identity of the bomber who killed 19 people and injured dozens.

According to the Observatory, the bomber is called (A. Y.) and comes from the village of Jeblat al-Hamra of eastern al-Bab countryside. He was a former member of the Islamic State terrorist group (ISIS) and participated in the battles of Manbij and al-Bab.

After the Turks took control over al-Bab area, he joined al-Hamzat militia of the Syrian National Army before leaving them. He was arrested yesterday in al-Bab by the military police in the city.

In the same context, the observatory said that yesterday hundreds of people in al-Bab city went out in a demonstration in front of the police station building in the city, demanding the execution of the bomber. Several demonstrators broke into the building to express their dissatisfaction with the chaos status in the city.

The sources said that the police leaders did not go out to the people to know their demands, which made the situation between the demonstrators and the police worse, and led the police to initiate gun shots to disperse them and keep them away from the station.

The areas under the control of the Turkish-backed armed opposition groups are in a state of security chaos in light of repeated bombings, assassinations, kidnappings and theft. Also there is widespread public turnout and dissatisfaction among civilians.
