Students sent to home quarantine in Syria’s Manbij

MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – The Health Committee, in coordination with the Kurdish Red Crescent in Manbij city, decided on Sunday to quarantine intermediate and high school students coming from the Syrian government areas for two weeks to make sure that they are not infected with coronavirus.

Kurdish Red Crescent member Qosay Ahmad told North Press that there are not enough quarantine centers in the city to accommodate students who went to Aleppo to sit their exams.

Because of the lack of centers, Ahmad pointed out that they suggested to students' families to quarantine them at home for 14 days to make sure that they are not infected.

The Health Committee, in conjunction with the Kurdish Red Crescent and Education Committee in Manbij city, held on Sunday a meeting for students' parents, in order to explain the isolation mechanism at home and show them how to take precautionary steps to protect themselves from coronavirus and provide a set of directions.

Nearly 1,175 intermediate and high school students from Manbij travelled to Aleppo city to sit their exams, according to the Education Committee in Manbij.

Within the coming days, students will return to Manbij after they finish their exams.
