“Ride of Love”, a campaign to bring joy to the hearts of Qamishli Christians

As Christmas approaches, the "Ambassadors of Love", a team that launched its third campaign "Ride of Love" in the city of Qamishli, in northeastern Syria, aiming to gather the Syriac young people and direct them towards voluntary work, and to bring the joy of Christmas into the hearts of families who lost it for a long time.

"We chose this name because it is the journey of the birth of Jesus Christ, the birth of love, tolerance and giving, we convert the word of the Lord in actions, and we transform the spiritual words that we derive from the feast into action via our youth to all,” Reem Dawli, an official in "Ride of Love" campaign told North-Press.

While the supervisor of the team of "Ambassadors of Love", Mirai Yousef, explained that their campaign started last week, by setting a feast breakfast in Virgin Mary Church, in addition to repeating the same activity in the Church of St. Qariaqis in al-Arbawiyeh neighborhood in Qamishli, to bring people together after the ritual of Divine Liturgy for the love of Christ. She also pointed out that the campaign will continue its activities next week, by distributing Christmas hospitality and food to needy and poor families in the city of Qamishli, as she noted that the purpose of the campaign is to inculcate love in the hearts of all people.

While Martin Yousef, a member of the team in Qamishli, said: "There are many families who have lost the joy of the Christmas, because of poverty and their inability to meet this day's needs. We have created the team to share this joy with them."

It is noteworthy that the city of Qamishli witnesses several celebrations and activities with the approaching of Christmas, which is considered one of the major festivals celebrated in the city, despite the war and devastation which northern Syria has been through, upon the ongoing Turkish military and its affiliated armed group’s invasion in the region.
