“The safe zone is a Turkish media game” – Turkish analyst
Ein Issa – North-Press Agency
A Turkish political analyst has told North-Press about the Turkish military invasion in northeastern Syria, bringing refugees from Turkey into what it has called a "safe zone", and the transfer of the East Ghouta residents from Jarablus into northeastern Syria, and the demographic change in the region.
Turkey has declared "a safe zone in the east of the Euphrates as a place of return for refugees, where two million refugees cannot be accommodated, because of the damaged infrastructure of the region, where there are no factories, and the soil is no good for cultivation," said the Turkish political analyst, Jawad Gok.
For these reasons, Turkey's declaration of "the safe zone in Ras al-Ain, Tal Abyad and Ein Issa is only for the sake of media. It is expected that only 100,000 people will return to this area, which is not proper for them," Gok added.
He stressed that there is a danger of "making a demographic change in northeastern Syria. We know very well if one million Syrian citizens of the Arab component migrated into these areas, that will cause a big problem and make the Kurdish and Arab component in a great disputes, especially that those Arabs are outsiders,” he added.
He also said that "Turkey has announced that it had killed 30 people, it says that they were members of People’s Protection Units (YPG), as Turkey has exploited individual attacks by the people of the region and made it a pretext for attacking Ein Issa."
