SDF committed to agreements, ready for dialogue with Damascus – Autonomous Administration

Ein-Issa – North-Press Agency

The Autonomous Administration in North and East of Syria has issued a statement today regarding the continuation of Turkey and its affiliated armed groups for breaching the ceasefire agreements, which were reached in accordance with the U.S.-Turkish agreement on October 17, as well as Sochi agreement, which brought together the Turkish and Russian Presidents days later; the Autonomous Administration also reaffirmed its readiness for dialogue with the Syrian government.

The north-eastern Syria Administration said there has been constant unlimited attacks on all areas until now, despite the ceasefire agreements, including on the areas of Tal Tamer, Ein Issa and the axis of M4 highway.

The statement added that these attacks resulted in more than 350 thousand IDPs and hundreds of wounded and civilian casualties, in addition to the process of demographic change.

The statement pointed out that the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) has abided by the terms of the ceasefire, and withdrew from all the bordering areas.

The north-eastern Syria Administration noted that what they are seeing now is that the role of the Russian guarantor needs to be more effective, and the current role is not commensurate with the reality of the made understandings.

The Administration pointed out that what is happening in some areas comes within the framework of legitimate defense, and Russia knows well that all the areas targeted today are outside the understandings that have been reached between Russia and Turkey.

The Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has already stated and reiterated on 26 November in Moscow that the Autonomous Administration was not serious in the dialogue. While the Autonomous Administration of northeastern Syria has confirmed its readiness and seriousness of all the efforts through which dialogue would be activated in this context, according to the statement.

The Administration in its statement stressed: "We, in our external relations in the Autonomous Administration have taken all necessary measures to conduct dialogue with Damascus and we are always ready for that.”

The statement included: "We always keep working within the Syrian framework as we are Syrians, and that dialogue is important with Damascus, thereafter we have expressed our positive stance, while the other party is still not clear and there are procrastination and unwillingness in the political dialogue;" therefore, "we believe that the Russian role as a guarantor in moving this stance is also important".

The statement also said: "We are keen on stability and the need to stop the Turkish aggression, and our readiness today because we have not exceeded any understandings, and sought a serious and frank dialogue which is not subjected to any change or to the American presence on the ground.”

The statement also said: "We are keen on stability and the need to stop the Turkish aggression, and our readiness today because we have not exceeded our circumvent any understandings, and sought a serious and frank dialogue which is not subjected to any change or to the American presence on the ground".

The statement concluded that it would be better to investigate the reality of what Turkey is doing on the Syrian territories, and that commenting and declaring contrary to the existing stances and the reality of the status quo is merely a direct support for Ankara and its backed armed groups to continue their practices against Syria and its people.
