Thefts of Turkish-backed armed groups reach school supplies in Afrin

Since the takeover of the Turkish military and its affiliated armed opposition groups opposition, Afrin region has been witnessing kidnapping operations of families and demanding ransom for their release, in addition to robberies and looting operations which have reached the houses of the residents, and recently, stealing school supplies.

Photos from the city center of Afrin obtained by North-Press documenting the looting by Turkish-backed armed opposition groups of schools' seats in the city of Afrin, and collecting them in the houses of the families which had taken them after displacing the people forcibly.

While local sources confirmed to North-Press that Turkish military and the affiliated armed groups have taken some schools in Afrin as military bases, while the Turkish language has been imposed on the curriculum in the primary and secondary schools, in addition to changing the names of schools.
