Wael Mirza, a member of the Syrian Democratic Council leadership said that the great openness to the Autonomous Administration and the continuity of European and foreign delegations visits to North and East Syria recently, prove the firm stance and the assertion that there’s no solution in Syria without the Syrian Democratic Council ‘SDC”, the political wing of the Syrian Democratic Forces in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria.

Wael Mirza’s statement, came in an interview with North-Press, in light of the unprecedented diplomatic movement with successive European and foreign delegations’ visits to the Autonomous Administration region in north and eastern Syria, especially after the territorial defeat of the Islamic State last March by the SDF, the military wing of SDC.

Wael Mirza, also an official of the Assyrian Democratic Party- Syria added, “There’s no solution in Syria without the Syrian Democratic Council and its military forces represented by the Syrian Democratic Forces, which defeated global terrorism on the ground and administrated a great territory within the Syrian geography.”

“The great openness and the recent visits of foreign delegations to northeastern Syria prove the steadfastness of our positions that we have demanded from the very beginning. These delegations do admit that the Syrian Democratic Council should not be excluded from the Geneva Talks and the Constitutional Commission, and we are optimistic that things will be improved to be better”, he added.

Concerning the role of Syrian Democratic Council (SDC), Mirza said, “Many parties have tried to marginalize our role in the path to the Syrian solution, but in the end, rightness shall prevail”.

“Our role must be taken into account; we have theses to solve the Syrian crisis, which cannot be ignored because we are powerful forces on the ground,” he added.

One of the most prominent debates discussed among Western delegations with the representatives of the Autonomous Administration is the issue of their citizens related to ISIS.

In this regard, the Assyrian politician says, “We have demanded European and foreign countries, right from the beginning, to take responsibility and receive their ISIS-detained members, to be trialed in their own countries, whereas the countries that refused to take them back, we called for the establishment of an international tribunal recognized by the United Nations to end this problem”.

“These terrorists have been exported to the region, and countries’ ignorance of their citizens, create further suffering for us, as we seek to put political pressure on the countries whose citizens are in our detention centers to take them back.”

The Global coalition backed Syrian Democratic Forces captured thousands of ISIS militants, whether during the battles against them or those who surrendered in their last stronghold in the town of Al-Baghouz east of Deir Ez-Zor.

The US-led multi-ethnic forces called on the international community to establish an international tribunal for ISIS militants in the SDF controlled territories in North and East Syria.
