UNDOF delegation visits southern Quneitra countryside
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – A delegation from the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) visited on Wednesday Sida al-Jolan village and its farms in southern Quneitra.
The delegation discussed several demands related to the security situation in the area amid Israeli army incursions.
Quneitra Media Directorate said residents called for increased UNDOF patrols, particularly at night.
The delegation also discussed with farmers ways to facilitate their access to farmland near the separation line and the harvesting of olive crops as the season approaches.
The delegation said it would consider issuing identification cards to farmers, similar to those previously issued in al-Rafid town.
The meeting was part of UNDOF’s outreach to residents in areas within its area of operations, amid local calls for a greater role in monitoring the disengagement line and reducing the impact of security tensions on civilians and agricultural activity.
