Deadly clashes in Syria’s Daraa leave 1 dead, 5 injured
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – One person was killed and five others, including Internal Security personnel, were injured on Monday in armed clashes during an Internal Security raid on a house in Inkhil, northern Daraa governorate, to arrest wanted suspects.
North Press correspondent in Daraa reported that Mohammad Imad al-Wadi died from injuries sustained during an exchange of fire. He was the brother of Bahjat al-Wadi, the main suspect targeted in the operation.
The clashes leave two Internal Security personnel injured, while three civilians sustain minor injuries after an Internal Security vehicle targeted with an RPG explodes.
As the clashes intensify, Internal Security imposes a curfew until further notice in the area extending from the Qayta intersection to the eastern neighborhood of the city, in an effort to contain the situation and prevent further repercussions.
