Four Syrian internal security members killed in Raqqa attack

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Syria’s Interior Ministry announced on Monday that four members of its internal security forces were killed and two others injured following an attack targeting a security checkpoint in the countryside of Raqqa.

In a statement published on its official platforms, the ministry said, “A checkpoint affiliated with the Internal Security Forces in the city of Raqqa was subjected to a terrorist attack, resulting in the martyrdom of four checkpoint members and the injury of two others.”

The ministry added that security forces managed to “neutralize one member of the attacking cell,” while operations are ongoing to comb the surrounding area in pursuit of remaining assailants.

According to the statement, the incident marks the second attack against internal security personnel in the area within two days. Authorities reported that another assault targeted the same checkpoint on Sunday, during which one of the attackers was also neutralized.

No group has officially claimed responsibility for the attacks.
