Israeli forces advance into Syria’s Quneitra, set up temporary checkpoints
QUNEITRA, Syria (North Press) – Israeli forces advanced on Tuesday into several areas of the southern Quneitra countryside, southern Syria, deploying military vehicles in ground movements that included the establishment of temporary checkpoints and the search of homes.
A local source told North Press that an Israeli force comprising around 12 military vehicles entered from the western entrance of the village of Saida al-Hanout, passing through the Tel Abu Gheithar crossing into Saida al-Golan. There, Israeli soldiers set up a temporary checkpoint at the village’s western intersection.
At the same time, another Israeli military unit, consisting of three vehicles advanced from the entrance of the town of Bir Ajam toward the villages of Bariqa and Kudna, without any reports of clashes or confrontations.
The source added that several soldiers briefly entered Saida al-Golan, searched a house, and then withdrew from the area. No arrests were reported during the incursion.
