SDC discusses implementation of March 10 agreement in Raqqa
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) held on Sunday a dialogue session in the city of Raqqa, northern Syria, with local figures to discuss the March 10 agreement signed between Syrian Transitional President Ahmad al-Sharaa and Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Commander in Chief Mazloum Abdi.
The session, titled “A Strategic Vision for Syria and the Coming Stage,” brought together political, cultural, and human rights activists, in addition to tribal representatives from Raqqa.
Mohammed al-Aboud, an SDC member and participant in the preparatory committee, told North Press that the meeting aimed to clarify the latest political developments in Syria and shed light on negotiations between the transitional government and northeastern Syria.
He added that the discussions focused on mechanisms for implementing the March 10 agreement and reviewed the latest outcomes of talks between negotiating committees and the transitional government.
On March 10, the Syrian transitional government, led by Ahmad al-Sharaa, and SDF’s General Mazloum Abdi signed an agreement aimed at laying the foundations for a political settlement.
The agreement included provisions for security coordination, decentralization, and guarantees for the political and cultural rights of communities in northeastern Syria.
Negotiations are ongoing to determine mechanisms of implementation, especially in areas of governance, administration, and security arrangements.
