Presidential decree forms committee for Syria’s national transitional justice

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara issued on Thursday a presidential decree  establishing a committee for the National Transitional Justice Authority, according to official sources.

The decree, issued under the provisions of the constitutional declaration and Decree No. 20 of 2025, specifies that the committee will consist of a chairperson and 12 additional members.

It further directs that the committee members commence their duties under the supervision of the chairperson immediately upon notification of the decree. Tasks will be assigned among members according to the internal regulations governing the authority’s operations.

Officials noted that the committee will operate according to the internal charter of the authority, ensuring coordinated and transparent handling of its responsibilities. No additional commentary from opposition groups or external actors has been officially recorded.
