DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Foreign Ministry condemned on Wednesday an Israeli drone strike targeting a Syrian army unit near the city of al-Kiswah in Rif Damascus, which resulted in the deaths of six military personnel.

Earlier reports confirmed that six members of the Syrian army were killed in the attack, carried out by Israeli drones, targeting a unit stationed in the area.

In an official statement, the ministry described the attack as “a serious violation of international law and the United Nations Charter, representing a clear breach of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and part of Israel’s repeated aggressive policies aimed at undermining regional security and stability.”

The statement emphasized Syria’s commitment to its “legitimate right to defend its land and people in accordance with international law,” while calling on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to “fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities to put an end to these repeated attacks and ensure Israel stops its ongoing violations against Syria, its people, and national institutions.”

The incident underscores ongoing tensions between Syria and Israel, with previous strikes in southern and central Syria targeting military sites, often leading to casualties and heightened regional alert.
