DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – The Jordanian capital, Amman, will host a key summit on Sunday bringing together Turkey, Jordan, Syria, and Iraq to discuss regional security cooperation and counterterrorism efforts.
A Turkish diplomatic source told Reuters that the foreign ministers of the four nations will participate, alongside defense ministers, military officials, and intelligence chiefs.
Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein stated that the meeting will focus on Syria’s current situation and counterterrorism strategies, with Iraq playing a significant role in the discussions, according to the Iraqi News Agency.
He added that the agenda will include evaluating the security landscape in Syria and exploring mechanisms to combat terrorism and enhance joint cooperation among the participating nations.
This initiative follows remarks made in February by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, who emphasized that the four countries would take coordinated steps to eliminate ISIS and bolster regional security.
