ISIS attack kills 2 Asayish members in Raqqa

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – The Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) reported on Wednesday that two of their members were killed in an attack by an Islamic State (ISIS) cell in Raqqa, northern Syria.

The attack took place on Tuesday when gunmen targeted an Asayish checkpoint in the area of Kasrat in the southern countryside of Raqqa. 

The Asayish confirmed that two of their personnel were killed, while two others sustained injuries in the assault.

A civilian near the checkpoint was also wounded during the incident, according to the Asayish.

All the injured are currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital in Raqqa.

The Asayish pointed out that the attack was carried out by four ISIS militants armed with automatic weapons. However, no details were provided regarding the fate of the attackers.
