Government Escalation in NW Syria Leads to Civilian Casualties and Displacement
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, Syrian government forces intensified attacks in the countryside of Aleppo and Idlib in northwest Syria, as well as in Latakia in western Syria, leading to the death of a child and injuries to several civilians.
Syrian Opposition media outlets reported that a child was killed and one person injured in a government attack on the village of Maarbalit in southern Idlib.
Additionally, two civilians and a young girl were injured when government forces targeted a vehicle in the town of Kafar Nouran in western Aleppo using a drone.
The media sources indicated that multiple attacks were carried out by government forces using FPV (First-Person View) one-way drones on Kafar Nouran, but no information was available on any material or human losses.
Similar government shelling also struck the villages of al-Ruweiha and Benin in southern Idlib, as well as the villages of San, al-Nayrab, and Majdaliya in the eastern countryside of Idlib.
In northern Latakia, government forces targeted areas around the village of Klez with one-way drones, although no reports on material or human losses were immediately available.
Sources affiliated with Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, formerly known as al-Nusra Front) reported that the Fath al-Mubin operations room, which includes HTS and other opposition factions, targeted government positions in the village of Dadikh in eastern Idlib with heavy artillery.
Recently, ongoing military escalations in the region have forced dozens of families to flee their homes in the countryside of Idlib and Aleppo.
