SDF posts come under attacks in Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Multiple attacks targeted on Sunday night locations and checkpoints of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the Deir ez-Zor countryside, eastern Syria, one of these assaults claimed by the Islamic State (ISIS).

In one incident, two unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle attacked an SDF checkpoint at the entrance to the town of Shuhail, causing material damage but no casualties.

Similarly, another attack targeted an SDF checkpoint in the town of Hawaij in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, with no injuries reported, according to local sources.

Additionally, clashes erupted between SDF fighters stationed on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River and Iranian-backed militias on the western bank.

The clashes took place near the towns of Suwaydan and Daranj in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, although no further details have been confirmed.

ISIS later claimed responsibility for the attack on the SDF checkpoint in Shuhail, alleging that the SDF fighters were injured. However, SDF sources denied any injuries among their ranks.

These incidents follow a previous attack on Sunday, when the SDF said that three of its fighters were injured by a motorcycle bomb explosion carried out by an ISIS cell. This explosion occurred south of Hasakah on the road linking the city to Raqqa.
