Gunmen kill 2 individuals in Syria’s Daraa
DARAA, Syria (North Press) – Unknown gunmen killed on Monday two individuals in separate attacks in different areas of Daraa Governorate in southern Syria, highlighting the region’s growing instability.
A local source in the town of Muzayrib, located in the northwestern countryside of Daraa, said that unknown assailants shot to death Ali al-Naqrawi, a former opposition member.
The source added that al-Naqrawi had distanced himself from any armed groups since the 2018 reconciliation agreements. However, some residents accused him of involvement in drug trafficking.
In a separate incident in the town of Inkhil, north of Daraa, unidentified gunmen shot to death Shizar Yasser al-Jarad , a young man originally from the city of Jassem in the northern countryside of Daraa.
Local sources confirmed that, like al-Naqrawi, al-Jarad had no affiliations with military groups but had also faced allegations of drug trafficking.
Daraa continues to grapple with severe security challenges, with frequent killings, kidnappings, and targeted attacks attributed to unknown perpetrators. These ongoing incidents have resulted in a steady toll of casualties, underscoring the region’s fragile security environment.
