Israeli airstrikes target research facility in Aleppo
ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – Israeli airstrikes targeted early on Saturday a scientific research facility in the countryside of Aleppo in northwestern Syria, resulting in injuries among military personnel of the Syrian government forces.
A military source told Syria’s state-run news agency SANA that at approximately 12:45 AM, Israel launched an aerial assault from southeast Aleppo, striking multiple sites in the Aleppo and Idlib countryside, leading to injuries among military personnel and causing material damage.
While Israel has not commented on this particular incident, recent Israeli airstrikes in Syria, especially in central and southern regions, have predominantly targeted Iranian-backed militants and members of the Lebanese Hezbollah.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said that these airstrikes specifically targeted military production sites and government-linked scientific research facilities in the city of Safirah, where Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) units and Iranian-backed militias are stationed.
