U.S. airstrikes target ISIS camps in Syria, killing 35 members  

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – In a decisive move, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces announced on Wednesday the killing of 35 members of the Islamic State (ISIS)in eastern Syria.

The CENTCOM said, in a statement, that its forces conducted a series of airstrikes on several known ISIS camps in Syria on the evening of Oct. 28.

These operations, carried out in the Syrian desert, specifically targeted multiple locations associated with ISIS and are reported to have killed up to 35 ISIS operatives, including senior leaders.

According to CENTCOM, there are no indications of civilian casualties resulting from the airstrikes.

The objective of the strikes was to significantly disrupt ISIS’ operational capabilities, reducing their ability to plan, organize, and conduct attacks against both civilians and U.S. forces, as well as the nation’s allies and partners in the region and beyond, in reference to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

The CENTCOM has reiterated its commitment to working closely with allies and regional partners to diminish ISIS’ operational strength and ensure the group’s lasting defeat.
