SDF captures 2 ISIS members in Hawl Camp

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Tuesday the capture of two members of the Islamic State (ISIS) in Hawl Camp, located east of the city of Hasakah in Northeast Syria.

According to a statement on the SDF’s official website, its Military Operation Teams (MOT) conducted a carefully planned security mission targeting an ISIS-affiliated terrorist cell.

The operation followed extensive surveillance of the suspects’ activities, ultimately leading to the capture of two militants.

The SDF identified the detained individuals as Khaled Mahmoud Ali, from Haditha, Anbar, and Abdullah Jamal Khalaf, from Ramadi, Anbar, both Iraqi nationals.

The statement revealed that these militants were actively planning terrorist attacks against SDF personnel, local civilians, and nearby civil institutions.

The detainees also intended to smuggle ISIS family members out of the camp, fundraise, foster international ties, and engage in indoctrination efforts within the camp to further ISIS’ extremist agenda, the SDF reported.
