SDF claims strike on Turkish bases, killing 7 soldiers
MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – The Manbij Military Council, a component of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), announced on Saturday that it killed seven Turkish soldiers in Manbij, northern Syria.
The Council said it conducted heavy artillery strikes on positions of Turkish forces in the northern countryside of Manbij, northern Syria.
The strikes resulted in the killing of seven Turkish soldiers, according to the Council.
The Council added that the attacks were in retaliation for a series of Turkish airstrikes and artillery bombardments launched since Oct. 24 across northeastern Syria, which targeted both essential infrastructure and civilian sites.
In an official statement shared on its platforms, the Council specified that its artillery targeted four Turkish bases located in the north of the city of Manbij, including Baldaq, Sheikh Nasser, al-Qarata, and Sheqayef.
The strikes, according to the Council, resulted in the killing of seven Turkish soldiers, with additional injuries reported among Turkish forces stationed at these sites.
