Iran proposes 3 infrastructure projects in Damascus
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Iran has proposed a plan to implement three projects in Damascus, Syria’s capital, which are currently under review by the Syrian government, the semi-official newspaper al-Watan reported on Sunday.
This came during the recent visit of Mayor of Tehran Alireza Zakani to the Syrian capital, following an invitation from the Governor of Damascus, Mohammad Tariq Kreishati.
On Sep., Kreishati and Zakani signed a twin-city agreement aimed at enhancing and deepening cooperation and exchanging expertise across various sectors, including services, economy, society, and tourism.
According to what the paper described as “special sources,” Iran has proposed a project involving electric buses and another project for solid waste management.
Additionally, Tehran presented a proposal for a subway system under the city of Damascus, noting that these projects are currently under review.
