Earthquake in Syria’s Hama leaves 17 injuries 

Qamishli, Syria (North Press) – A 4,9 magnitude earthquake hit on Friday the eastern countryside Syria’s central governorate of Hama injuring 17 people.

The National Earthquake Center of the Syrian government reported that the earthquake was recorded 23 km west of the city of Salamyah, east of the city of Hama province, at 13:15 p.m.

Director of Salamiyah National Hospital, Osama Mulhum, told state-run news agency SANA that 17 people sustained minor injuries and experienced panic due to the earthquake.

The National Earthquake Center indicated that weak to moderate tremors may continue to be recorded in the coming period.
