2 SNA militants injured in grenade blast in Syria’s Afrin

AFRIN, Syria (North Press) – Two militants of a faction of the Turkish-backed armed opposition, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA), were injured on Wednesday night due to a grenade explosion in a town in Afrin region, northwestern Syria.

An exclusive source told North Press that unknown individuals threw a hand grenade at a checkpoint at the town of Sharran in the northeast of the city of Afrin.

The incident led to the injury of two militants of the Turkish-backed Civil Police, the source added. One of them is in a critical situation.

The Afrin region has been under the occupation of Turkey and its affiliated SNA factions since March 2018, following a large-scale military operation dubbed ‘Olive Branch’.

Since then, the city has been witnessing a noticeable increase in explosions amid a state of security chaos.

In February, four people, including two children, were injured in the explosion of a motorcycle in Afrin city.
