Asayish arrest 14 drug traffickers in Syria’s Hasakah

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – The Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) announced on Tuesday they arrested 14 drug traffickers in Hasakah Governorate in northeastern Syria in the past days.

In a statement, the Asayish, said their forces conducted several raids on hideouts of drug dealers and traffickers in Hasakah.

The raid resulted in the arrest of 14 individuals of drug dealers and traffickers, according to the statement. They also seized arms, cash money, and captagon pills.

In February, the Asayish announced they foiled an attempt of smuggling 200,000 narcotic pills in Hasakah.

The Asayish’s Anti-Drug Forces had previously said they launched 1,946 operations in 2023 in pursuing drug dealers and smugglers and arrested 3,300 people including 172 drug smugglers, 2,165 drug users, and 963 drug dealers.
