Turkish forces transfer 15 detainees from Syria’s Afrin to Turkey

ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – Turkish authorities transferred on Tuesday 15 detainees, including six girls, from a prison in the countryside of Afrin, northwestern Syria, to a prison in Turkey.

A source from the Turkish-backed Military Police told North Press Turkish authorities transferred 15 detainees from Kafr Janneh Prison in the northeast of Afrin to Turkish territory.

The detainees were arrested for nearly two months on charges of working with the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) before Turkish forces and their affiliated armed opposition factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA) occupied Afrin.

The detainees were taken through the Hamam border crossing in the town of Jindires, southwestern Afrin. This marks the third transfer of Syrians to Turkish territories from the same prison in March, according to the source.

The source pointed that the number of transferred detainees amounted to 27, including 11 women so far in March.

In another incident, three individuals, including a woman, were injured on Tuesday evening during clashes between two SNA factions in the village of Ain al-Arous, south of the city of Tel Abyad, northern Syria, a source in the Military Police in the city said.

The clashes occurred between Levant Front (al-Jabha al-Shamiya) and Faylaq al-Majd (Majd Crops), resulting in the injury of two individuals and a woman with various injuries, according to the source.
