Turkey deports 10,000 Syrian refugees in Oct.
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Turkish authorities have deported 10,000 Syrian refugees to Syria during October, official sources operating in three border crossings with Turkey in north and northwest Syria revealed.
An official operating in the Bab al-Hawa border crossing northern Idlib, northwest Syria, told North Press the number of the forcibly deported Syrians through the crossing to areas held by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, formerly al-Nusra Front) has reached 2,832 in the last month.
The toll is the highest since early this year, according to the official.
The officials revealed that 3,650 Syrian refugees were deported through the Tel Abyad border crossing northern Raqqa, and 4,338 others were deported through the Bab al-Salameh border crossing in northern Aleppo.
The total toll of the Syrian deportees through the three crossings has mounted to 10,820 amid Turkey’s ongoing endeavor to deport the Syrians on its soil under the false pretext of “voluntary return,” according to the officials.
