Tribe demands SNA to handover killer of notable in Syria’s Azaz
AZAZ, Syria (North Press) – The tribe of al-Bushaban demanded on Friday the Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA), to hand over the killer of one of their leaders in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, northwestern Syria.
SNA militants assassinated Mahmoud Abdurrahman, aka Abu Steif, a notables of al-Bushaban tribe in the eastern countryside of the city of al-Bab, according to a source in the SNA.
The source told North Press that the assassination took place on the Qabasin road in the countryside of al-Bab following the Friday prayer. The area witnessed a state of tension and alertness following the incident.
The representatives of al-Bushaban tribe threatened, in a video footage circulated by activists, to attack anyone they suspect of being involved in the assassination of Abdurrahman if the killer is not revealed within 24 hours.
The city of al-Bab has been under the control of Turkey and its SNA factions since 2017.
The SNA held-areas continue to witness security chaos with many clashes and recurrent explosions amid the inability of the factions to maintain order.
So far, the SNA has issued no statement or comment regarding the assassination.
