People mourn Asayish member killed in Turkish attack on NE Syria
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Hundreds of Qamishli residents in northeastern Syria gathered on Saturday at Martyr Delil Sarokhan Cemetery to mourn the body of Muhammad Ahmad Kindo, member of the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish).
Kindo was killed last Thursday in a Turkish drone strike on the southern outskirts of the city of Amuda, northeastern Syria.
In the past 48 hours, Turkey targeted 131 posts in northeastern Syria, including 23 military posts, 13 of which belong to the Syrian government forces, according to the Monitoring and Documentation Department at North Press.
Due to the Turkish attacks, 17 people were killed, including 10 civilians; and eight others were injured, including five civilians, according to the Monitoring and Documentation Department.
During the funeral ceremony, the residents called on the guarantor powers, particularly the United States and Russia, to take firm stances against the Turkish military escalation against the region.
