Turkish authorities deport 240 refugees to Syria
IDLIB / TEL ABYAD, Syria (North Press) – An Afghani was deported on Sunday with a group of 240 Syrian refugees to areas held by Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, aka Syrian National Army (SNA), via Tel Abyad and Bab al-Hawa border crossings.
A private source told North Press that the Turkish authorities handed over 65 Syrian refugees, including 10 women and their children, to the Military Police, affiliated with the SNA, via Tel Abyad border crossing, northern Raqqa Governorate, north Syria.
The source added that the Turkish authorities also deported 175 Syrian refugees, including 40 women and their children, and an Afghani refugee to areas held by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS – formerly al-Nusra Front) in Idlib Governorate, northwest Syria.
“The Afghani national was deported to Syria on charge of acquiring falsified documents, as he is now in the city of Sarmada, northern Idlib,” according to the source.
An exclusive source informed North Press that the number of Syrian deportees from Tel Abyad, Bab al-Hawa, and Bab al-Salama border crossings exceeded 12,600 deportees within this month.
