HTS arrests own members for ‘working with Coalition’
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday evening, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) arrested some of its own members, including a military official, in Idlib city and its southern countryside, on charges of working with the US-led Global Coalition.
A confidential source stated that the HTS’ General Security Apparatus raided two houses in the Sheikh Thulth and al-Qusur neighborhoods in Idlib city, and arrested two security personnel on charges of dealing with the US-led Coalition.
The General Security also arrested a security member in the town of Ariha and another in the village of al-Mastouma, both in south of Idlib, on the same charges.
Among the detainees were investigator Qusay al-Ahmad, also known as Abu al-Mughira Sujun, who is one of the most prominent investigators of the General Security, in addition to the detainee Ziyad al-Othman who works in Prison 107 in Idlib city.
HTS continues to pursue its security personnel, accusing them of dealing with the US-led Coalition. The number of detainees has exceeded 360 so far.
On Sunday, HTS executed two detainees by firing squad after holding them in custody for about eight months on charges of collaborating with the Coalition.
