Turkish authorities deport 180 refugees to northern Syria

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, Turkish authorities forcibly deported 180 people to northern Syria from the border crossings of Tel Abyad and Ras al-Ain, in northern Syria.

Sources told North Press that Turkish authorities deported 180 Syrian refugees through the Tel Abyad and Ras al-Ain border crossings in the northern countryside of Raqqa and Hasakah respectively.

The sources pointed out that deportation operations have increased in recent days, mostly through Tel Abyad and Ras al-Ain crossings, which are under the control of Turkey-backed factions, also known as the Syrian National Army (SNA).

On Monday, Turkish authorities also deported 90 people through the Tel Abyad border crossing.

Turkish authorities have launched a campaign against Syrian refugees residing in Turkey, particularly in Istanbul, since the beginning of July. Activists reported that more than a 1,000 people have been deported since the start of this month.
