Kenyan aid plane arrives in Damascus for quake-affected people
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – A plane carrying medical aid arrived on Tuesday at Damascus International Airport, coming from Kenya for people affected by the Feb. 6 earthquake.
The Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) received 40 tons of medical aid.
Head of the SARC Khaled Hbobati said that Syria will stay in need for aid to face the repercussions of the earthquake for a long time.
Operation Manager in Doctors Without Borders Organization, Ahmad Abdurrahman, said that the shipment is a second one from Kenya and it was sent to the SARC for quake-impacted people.
Abdurrahman pointed out that the shipment includes tents, baby formula, and medical equipment.
The Doctors Without Borders will find ways to be able to work with the Syrian Red Crescent to deliver aid to all people in need and those who were affected by the earthquake in Syria, Abdurrahman added.
A day before, an aid convoy included more than 80 trucks entered northwest Syria through Bab al-Hawa border crossing with Turkey, north of Idlib, northern Syria, for earthquake-affected people.
