UN sends 82 aid trucks for quake-affected people in Syria
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – An aid convoy included more than 80 trucks entered on Monday northwest Syria through Bab al-Hawa border crossing with Turkey, north of Idlib, northern Syria, for earthquake-affected people.
A source in the crossing told North Press that the convoy is the largest one to enter those areas for quake-affected people and consists of 82 trucks affiliated to the United Nations (UN).
The convoy was handed over to partner organizations of the UN, as 11 trucks were handed over to Shafaq Organization, 10 to Nasaem Khair Organization, 12 to White Hands Organization, 20 to A’taa Organization, 17 to Mercy Organization, and 12 to IYD Organization, according to the source.
The source pointed out that the convoy included many kinds of aid and food stuff, including rice and flour, in addition to food parcels.
The number of UN relief trucks that have arrived in northwestern Syria through Bab al-Hawa since the quake increased to 1.154 trucks, all of which were delivered to the partner organizations.
On March 14, a UN aid convoy, meant for people affected by the earthquake, entered northwest Syria from Turkey through Bab al-Hawa crossing.
