UN aid convoy enters northwest Syria
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, a new UN aid convoy, meant for people affected by the February 6 earthquake, entered northwest Syria from Turkey through Bab al-Hawa border crossing in northern Idlib.
An informed source told North Press, “A humanitarian aid convoy – meant for earthquake-affected people and consisting of 32 UN trucks – entered the areas controlled by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham [HTS, formerly al-Nusra Front] in Idlib.”
The source added that the convoy was delivered to UN partner organizations operating in northwest Syria. About 16 trucks were given to the Muzun organization, containing 150 NFI (non-food items) baskets and 174 electric generators.
The other trucks, which contained 7.500 baskets, were delivered to the organizations and associations of Nasaem Khair and Ataa, Beyaz Eller, Mercy Corps, and IYD.
The number of UN relief trucks that have arrived in northwestern Syria through Bab al-Hawa since the quake increased to 628 trucks, all of which were delivered to the partner organizations.
