SDF arrests ISIS militants in Syria’s Hasakah

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday evening, Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) arrested four militants of Islamic State (ISIS) in a joint operation with the US-led Global Coalition south of Hasakah, northeast Syria.

The SDF said in a statement that “Counter-terrorism Units (YAT) of the SDF in cooperation with Counter-Terrorism Group (CTG) of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and the US-led Global Coalition managed on Saturday to dismantle an active cell of the terrorist ISIS, consisting of four mercenaries, who provide the group with weapons and military equipment.”

The statement added that the SDF anti-terror forces and the partner forces raided the militants of the cell in the town of Markada south of Hasakah, and they cordoned off and checked their houses.

The operation resulted in the arrest of the four ISIS militants and the confiscation of weapons and technical equipment they possessed, according to the statement.

They also found communication devices and different types of weapons, as well as documentations that prove their connection to ISIS.
