Idlib residents hold protest to commemorate 12th anniversary of Syria’s war
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Thousands of residents in the city of Idlib, northwest Syria, organized on Wednesday a protest to commemorate the 12th anniversary of the Syrian Civil War.
The protest started at 12 pm in the Sabaa Baharat square in downtown Idlib and lasted for more than four hours.
The participants raised flags and placards and chanted slogans demanding “overthrowing al-Assad and continuing the revolution.”
The Syrian Civil War, which started on March 15, 2011, has claimed the lives of about 500.000 people and displaced half of the country’s population in and outside Syria.
