UAE set to build 400 housing units for Syria’s quake-hit people
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) stated it works with the United Arab Emirates to build 400 housing units to accommodate people affected by the quake in Syria, adding that the housing units are under construction.
A source in SARC said, “The UAE would make 400 housing units to be transferred to Syria as soon as they are completed to be distributed in coordination with SARC to people according to priorities.”
The source was quoted by the semi-official newspaper al-Watan as saying the UAE said this morning that they had embarked on making 400 housing units to be transferred to Syria upon completion.
On February 6, a disastrous quake hit south Turkey and north Syria claiming more than 45.000 lives and injuring many more. Mass damage and destruction was caused to infrastructure and residential buildings making thousands homeless.
