1.470 Syrians Dead in Turkey Earthquake enter Syria
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – The number of Syrian victims who died in Turkey’s earthquake has reached 1.470 bodies in the last ten days.
The bodies entered Syrian territory through Bab al-Hawa border crossing in Idlib Governorate, northwest Syria.
A source in the border crossing told North Press that 1.479 dead bodies of Syrians entered from Turkey into Syria so far.
The Turkish authorities handed over the bodies to the management of the border crossing to be delivered later to relatives. The number is expected to rise in the coming days, the source added.
At dawn on Feb. 6, a 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit Syria and Turkey, killing thousands and injuring much more. The earthquake also caused immense destruction of buildings, trapping thousands under the rubble.
