Six bodies arrive at AANES-held areas died in earthquake
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Late on Wednesday, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) was handed bodies of six people died in the earthquake hit Turkey and Syria on February 6.
Co-chair of Health Board of the AANES Jiwan Mustafa said in a post released on AANES Facebook page, “The AANES continues to receive bodies of North and East Syria people who fell victim [to the earthquake] outside of our areas.”
“The AANES was handed over six bodies to be handed to their families via ambulances of the Health Board,” he added.
Mustafa said, “The number is subject to go higher.”
Earlier, AANES announced it received bodies of 18 people died in the earthquake.
On Tuesday, bodies of seven people arrived at the city of Kobani coming from Turkey where they died in the eartquake. Muhammad Hemi, a relative of a victim told North Press that six persons of a single family arrived at the village of Khazina in south Kobani.
