DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, one kid died as a landmine, planted by the Islamic State Organization (ISIS), exploded in a town in Syria’s eastern city of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria.
The eight-year-old Abdullah al-Ali died as a landmine, left by ISIS, detonated near the child’s house, Ahmed al-Ayoub, a resident of al-Marashidah town, 120 km east of Deir ez-Zor, told North Press.
The child was playing in the farm near his house where the landmine blew up, al-Ayoub said.
The child was transferred to the al-Kisom hospital located in Hajin city, 110 km eastern Deir ez-Zor, for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries, al-Ayoub added.
Unexploded remnants of war spread mainly in the east countryside of Deir ez-Zor given the area was once a stronghold of ISIS.
On January 27, a landmine, planted by ISIS, exploded and killed a farmer in Hajin city.
