Syria’s AANES official criticizes their weak relations with Arab world
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, Dr. Abdulkarim Omar, co-chair of the Department of Foreign Relations of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), described the European and international public opinion and the civil society institutions as allies, criticizing at the same time the weak relations of the AANES with the Arab world.
Omar said that the Autonomous Administration managed to build good societal relations with the public opinion and the civil society institutions in the world.
However, he criticized the AANES’ weak relations with the Arab neighboring countries ,saying that they are not at the required level whether officially or societally.
As a self-criticism, the AANES official partially blamed his department for this failure, adding that the other reason is the propaganda campaigns against the AANES in the Arab world which accuse the Autonomous Administration of dividing the country.
This came during Omar’s speech to the AANES official website on the occasion of the third anniversary of the establishment of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria.
Omar believes that relations with Arab countries are important, “because countries such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE and Jordan can play a role in the solution of the Syrian issue, instead of Iran and Turkey, which have nothing to do with the interests of the Syrian people.”
He stressed that they are planning to develop the relations between the AANES and the Arab countries next year.
